BBC Radio Manchester interview on Social Anxiety.

www.shiningalight.org.uk BBC Radio Manchester interview on Social Anxiety. (AKA Social Phobia, Extreme Shyness, Social Anxiety Disorder) Out Of The Shadows – Into The Light Shining a Light is an inspiring one day event that confronts issues of social and general anxiety, low self-esteem and related conditions, with a selection of fun, creative and therapeutic workshops. The Organisations Leading Light creator, Steve Light had previously suffered with the condition known as social anxiety disorder (SAD) for as long as he can remember. Steve has a passion of helping social anxiety sufferers live a life they love and has been running events over the past year to help people become more confident in their own skin. Through attending social anxiety groups and alternative therapy sessions, Steve made new friends and his confidence began to grow. Steves journey has been one of strength and determination that led him to organise a series of events, for people going through experiences comparable his own. The first event was held in 2008, and was a massive hit, with over 80 people attending and Ruby Wax also made an appearance and enjoyed Laughter Therapy Sessions and a Shiatsu Massage. Steve met when Ruby interviewed him on social anxiety for the BBC back in October 2008. Steve extended the invitation and Ruby replied, Id love to attend, its a really great thing you are doing for social anxiety sufferers and called her agent straight away. 1. @19alba87 Only discovered the term “social anxiety” last year but have had this all my life. Do you know of any form of help in Scotland?

  2. Well done and you’re well able to talk now inspirational as I can and do believe how bad you must have been before 🙂
I still can’t really have conversations with people and am at a loose end as to the reason – whether it is because I genuinely have nothing to say due to having nothing in common with anyone or whether it’s because I get so worried my mind traps my thoughts and stunts my thoughts when with people. I’ve tried to understand this for years & have heard nothing in Scotland about it.

  3. @SalutationToTheDawn Thank you! Yes you could do what I did. I never thought I could you know.

  4. Well done mate. You were on BBC Head Room with Ruby Wax, weren’t you? Again, well done, I could never do what you’ve done.

  5. there is no god it never existed never will it is imposssible it is a lie

  6. Pills, therapy, books about the subconcious mind etc you name it.

In my experience I can truly testify that only The Living GOD has healed me.
Medications from doctors helped me a little and it was temporary.
    God’s healing power is ETERNAL!

Now Im not an antidepressant pill dependent.
The cure for fear is FAITH!
    Fear limits you.
    FAITH ENABLES YOU!

People, THE ALMIGHTY GOD IS YOUR ONLY HOPE.
READ THE WORD OF GOD, HAVE FAITH AND OBEY!

God loves you and He wants you to LET HIM…
