NLP Courses – Learning About Different Techniques

NLP training courses are now sprouting up like mushrooms all over the world. It is readily available to almost everyone given that their location provides the program. NLP courses may vary from a quick two days to three weeks depending on the level one wishes to master. NLP training revolves around principles that are very easy and practical yet a lot of people find it difficult to fully embed it in their system.

NLP uses different techniques. Some of the techniques are written below.

Anchoring. This is the technique that uses association or repetition. The use of external stimuli like scent, sound, image, or touch can help you remember experiences, things, and persons. Have you experienced remembering a person when you smell a certain perfume? Or an image that reminds you of so many childhood memories? This is what anchoring is all about.
Reframing. Each person has its own way of interpreting things depending on his point of view. You change the meaning of something by reframing or putting it in a different context or situation. Have you ever laughed at how silly you acted when you and your ex broke up two years ago? The event may have been painful when it happened but if you put it in a long-term frame, the whole thing seems a lot funnier.
Rapport. This is also used in NLP courses though in a more subtle way. This is creating a good feeling between you and the person you are talking to in terms f relating to his/her experience, proper pacing, and matching body movements and gestures. It is important to be subtle especially when trying to match the other person’s body movement. You do not want to offend the person by being too obvious about it. He/she would think that you are making fun of him/her.
Timeline. This is all about time. For most people, time is very important. They want to remember what they did three hours ago or yesterday and they would use reminders and clues to help jog their memories. Time is also sometimes coded spatially (pertaining to space). A very old memory can seem so far away but something that recently happened seems very close.

These are some techniques used in NLP training courses. They are very useful especially in understanding and changing or improving personalities or behaviors. You will learn more about these techniques in your training course.
